Announcements and such:
To the many of you who are new, welcome. To those who read often, thank you. Since we probably have some new people and I haven’t done this in a while, some disclaimers:
Page One is written by me, tervo, a tubby cat on the internet. It is by no means advice and I am by no means an expert. I attempt to present you with information, not opinion nor interpretations, although some is necessary for readability. Inclusion in Page One is not an endorsement. Information in each article is verified to the extent it can be, but again I am a tubby cat on the internet, so please verify it yourself as well. The goal here is not to give calls or recommendations, but to create a resource for people to learn from. Okay that is that.
In other news, I’ve swapped OpenSea links for Gem links in this issue. For anyone who hasn’t used or heard of Gem, they are a marketplace aggregator, meaning listings from OpenSea, LooksRare and other marketplaces are viewable on Gem. I considered adding links for OpenSea and LooksRare but decided it looked a bit cluttered and found this to be a happy medium.
As always, let me know what you think, whether it be good, bad, or ugly and hit the button below to come hang out in The One.

News and Notes:
Art of the Seasons are dynamic illustrations by DirtyRobot, an independent illustrator and comic artist. Each piece captures a scene from one of the four seasons, ranging from hot summer days to winter snowball fights. Some pieces feature dynamic traits, meaning the scene could shift from day to night. Holders gain access to future art from DirtyRobot and RENGA Factory.
Boss Beauties have a long list of established supporters that now includes Marvel Entertainment. In a Twitter post, Marvel introduced Maeve and said they have teamed up with the Boss Beauties Foundation to tell her story. While this seems to imply some relationship between Marvel and Boss Beauties, the details have yet to be confirmed. Expect to find out more about what’s going on with Maeve in the next few weeks.
Cameo Pass provided some updates in their State of The Pass blog post last week. Holders are eligible for the allowlist for Luke McGarry’s genesis collection as well as the Daydreamers allowlist. The team is considering the creation of $CAMEO, a social-utility token that would power the Cameo ecosystem. Cameo is one of the first Web2 companies to dive head first into creating an NFT community and seem to be serious about doing so.
Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult will open the Gate to the Seventh Realm tomorrow, April 12. Once the gat is unlocked, the first of seven Beasts will go up for auction, with each auction lasting 24 hours. The purpose of the Beasts is still a bit mysterious, but read more about the process here. The Beast auctions kick off a series of events for the Wizards, including the release of the Forgotten Runes Warriors Guild on May 11 and the first Forgotten Runiverse Land sale sometime around June - check out their full milestones map here.
Goopdoods have started to find their place in the NFT community and continue seeing volume despite dramatic swings in floor price. The team has noticeably increased their social media presence and are working on the first merch drop for holders. In a market full of cartoon avatars, the Goops are carving out a niche for people who enjoy saying “goop” over and over in a Twitter space.
Smol Brains have a few new friends. During an appearance on the Alpha Leak podcast, the Treasure team revealed that a number of L1 Ethereum projects will be able to earn $SMOL. Shortly after the podcast, the Smol Brain Twitter account shared a teaser of a house surrounded by water. While there are no confirmed dates for the release of $SMOL or many other items, it feels like the team is preparing to get things moving again.
Recent Launches:
First Day Out, a 24-hour open edition sale from photographer DrifterShoots, sold over 10,000 copies. Drift has become a force in the photography NFT scene over the past year with his signature collection Where My Vans Go trading over 3,000e in volume. First Day Out commemorates the one-year anniversary of his release from prison and 15% of the proceeds were donated to The Bail Project. Read more about Drift’s story here and at his website below.
froyo kittens minted earlier this week and revealed last night. This is the first opportunity for many to have their own froyo kitten after watching artist Jessie Morii draw them for CT’s biggest personalities over the past few months. Given they own a place in the collective CT storybook, you’ll likely see them around.
KREEPY KLUB is one collection with three artists and three art styles. While there is only one set of traits, KREEPTURE, TOMORROWMAN and JUNKYARD all put a different spin on them, creating a collection where even things that are the same can be different. Despite this, KREEPY KLUB maintains a sense of continuity throughout.
Los Muertos World is an avatar collection with an art style inspired by the Day of the Dead (Dia de Muertos). Over the past few months they collaborated with a number of projects including Gutter Cat Gang and WonderPals. On the 10th, the team purchased 28 NFT Worlds “for the benefit of Los Muertos holders.” More information on what the NFT Worlds will be used for is coming soon.
MOAR has traded over 7,000e in volume in its first week. The debut NFT collection from Spanish cartoonist Joan Cornella, MOAR tells the story of a mansion in the metaverse inhabited by humans, zombies, cyborgs and the like. This strange mansion will play host to a variety of games and exhibitions for holders, the details of which are not yet known. Cornella is known for instilling his works full of powerful satire and has had work displayed across the world.
Shinsekai, a collection of 3D manga-inspired NFT avatars, minted last week. The teams stated goals include publishing a manga book, creating a clothing brand and growing the Shinsekai universe to include a variety of products and characters. During a week that saw multiple new anime avatars hit the market, Shinsekai traded nearly 6,000e in volume. Reveal will take place on the 17th.
VaynerSports Pass aims to give holders access to activities and events with their favorite athletes and future VSP NFT drops. Initially planned as a stealth mint, word slowly made its way around the space until the V-Brothers admitted their plans. Unfortunately the minting experience left much to be desired: the sale grossed about $8M but wasted more than three times that on gas and failed transactions. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what kind of events and benefits come from holding a VSP, as Gary and AJ are not going anywhere.
Other stuff worth a look: Antebellum Genesis Land, Dennis Rodman’s Barbershop, Haki, Hikari, illogics, JustCubes
Upcoming Launches:
Anata announced their Metadrop auction will be held on April 21. Over the past few weeks, the Anata team has added looped videos that will display on marketplaces, increased the trait diversity for male Anatas and performed general QA on the collection. The 2,000 piece collection of custom vtuber models will be sold in a forward auction on Metadrop. There are a few details left to come, so stay tuned to their Twitter for more info.
Capsule House is ready to hatch the second batch of avatars. Human capsules will transform into anime PFPs on April 14th.
Moonbirds called an audible on their Dutch auction plans in an effort to avoid bots and gas wars. Instead, they’ve opted to select minters through a PREMINT raffle that closed on Sunday evening. Winners will be announced on the 15th and Moonbirds will hold their mint on the 16th from 9AM to 12PM PT.
Soul Splicers is a “roguevania action game” with P2E mechanics. Players will battle through side-scrolling dungeons to harvest souls and defeat bosses, upgrading their NFT character’s abilities and statistics along the way. While the characters mint on Wednesday (presale) and Thursday, the game isn’t expected until later in the year. Read the details in their whitepaper here.
VeeFriends Series 2 mint window starts today, April 12, and closes on the 24th. S1 and Friends List members can claim today, while the public sale will be held on the 25th. Reread the details here and here.
NFT Market Overview:
And just like that we’re… not back? Things have felt towards the end of the weekend and beginning of a new week. Macro events and narratives are finding their way into crypto narratives and nerves seem to be rising across CT. Despite this, April is on pace to see more transactions on OpenSea than any month so far. There was no huge name pushing volume to the limits in the past week, although projects like MOAR, Shinsekai and VSP all contributed significant amounts.
The remainder of the month could have huge implications on the NFT market heading into May. A barrage of top-shelf projects including Anata, Moonbirds, VeeFriends S2 and whatever it is Yuga Labs has in store will occupy a huge amount of market liquidity and traders are certainly keeping this in mind when deciding what to buy.
I’ve added some new charts to keep an eye on LooksRare statistics - check out the great Hildobby’s dashboards here. These LR charts filter wash-trades out to look at organic market activity. While LR still sees a small percentage of overall market volume and users, you can tell that traders do indeed use the marketplace, particularly when selling higher-value items. I intend to continue adding some new charts and mixing things up, so if there’s anything you’d like to see, let me know.
