It’s an off-schedule week here (purely my doing, had life stuff come up) and since it’s already Wednesday for most, we’ll pick things back up on Sunday. In the meantime, hit the button below and come hang out.
TLDR:
Pixelized metaverse land and open metaverse land and 3Landers. Mutants and nightmares and buying whitelists with oil. Some new farmers, some new stars and an invisible collection of friends. And Tubby Cats.
News and Notes:
Frontier released an updated roadmap on Feb 20th, detailing their plans for the rest of the year. Their full whitepaper release and ICO are planned for some time between May and August, while a playable alpha version of the game is planned between July and October. Read the full roadmap here.
Gray Boys experienced some price discovery over the past week, seeing the floor more than double. One of the earlier collaborators with NFT Worlds, Gray Boys recently finished building their “battle arena” where holders can compete for $WRLD. Holders control a hefty DAO treasury and future roadmap items include “science experiments” and the Mothership token.
The Habibiz are introducing a staking mechanism to generate their associated token, $OIL, which can be swapped for whitelist spots on partner projects. This is a rather novel use case for a token and one that more projects could introduce if it’s successful.
Midnight Breeze from Dutchtide seems to pop up across Twitter and Discord evermore often. While many artists opt to created profile pictures, Dutchtide delivers “90’s anime aesthetic” with this collection of generative landscapes perfectly sized for cover photos.
MultiverseVM describes itself as “an open metaverse for all NFTs” and recently announced their single player alpha will release sometime in March, spurring demand over the past week. XenoInfinity, a companion collection of in-game avatars, released in mid-January and also saw increased volume. While there are still few details about the game itself, MVM and XenoInfinity’s mission to build an “open metaverse” is receiving plenty of support.
Smol Brains (and Bodies) are now smol farmers. The update rolled out on the 21st and allows holders to farm one treasure per smol per day. Brains and Bodies are now together as one on the Smolverse site and have the same treasure yield. While we aren’t yet sure exactly what these treasures will be used for, knowing the TreasureDAO team, they will be important eventually.

Worldwide Webb Land detailed the WWW Apartment Builder on the 19th with a plans to release it within the month. Holders will be able to customize the furniture in their apartments and will eventually be able to mint NFTs and create quests. Worldwide Webb made significant progress on their “interoperable pixel art MMORPG” and the introduction of more customization, as well as quests and P2E elements, will bring the web3 RPG closer to life.
Recent Launches:
3Landers have dominated volume since minting on the 19th and continued to rise after the public mint on the 20th. Devoid of a roadmap full of tokens and airdrops, this collection of boisterous pfps feels familiar and foreign. If Matt Groening teamed up with Burnt Toast and Hypebeast to make an NFT, it might look a little like this.
CatBlox minted late last week and will reveal at an unannounced time tomorrow. Yesterday they teased a collaboration with sportswear company Puma, who follows rivals Nike and Adidas into the digital asset arena. No details regarding the collaboration have been announced, but it certainly brings a new type of spotlight to CatBlox.
Clementine’s Nightmare, a collection of nightmare-ish characters for use in their coming PC and mobile P2E game, released 5,000 heroes. A second collection of 10,000 characters will release later this year; players will use one hero and two characters in the game. The team includes various gaming industry alumni and is (allegedly) supported by an impressive advertising company. While they haven’t performed too well since minting, this is one worth keeping an eye on.
Kaiju Mutants began minting on the 18th and revealed this evening. Failed Experiments act as mint passes for mutants, allowing holders to decide whether or not they’d like to reveal their new creation. Information regarding Mutant utility should be coming soon.
Starcatchers began their minting process tonight and have performed well so far. The eye-catching art style draws inspiration from Doodles and other vibrant generative collections, but will remain unrevealed until the 26th. Roadmap details have not been released, but will include “a scalable governance system, merch releases, and real life events.”
Tubby Cats have successfully taken over CT (and The One). With hundreds of different traits, the collection delivers variety without sacrificing its style. Nearly 14,000 have been minted so far and any remaining supply will be sold to the public tomorrow - see their Twitter and Discord for updates on sale method and price, which have not been announced. Holders of numerous projects qualified for the whitelist - check your wallet here.
Upcoming Launches:
Invisible Friends, a project many first heard about in November, will begin their highly-anticipated mint tomorrow at 5pm EST. They are currently auctioning off a Golden Friend for charity. The auction winner receives five Invisible Friends and the current bid is 24eth, providing a vague idea of the what the floor might be tomorrow.
WonderPals have been accumulating goodwill across cute pfp communities for months, collaborating with projects including alien frens, Deadfellaz, and Cool Cats (among many others). WonderPals fits right in with the bunch visually. 25% of the supply was raffled off to the public, while 75% is reserved for WonderList members.
NFT Market Overview:
After a scare Saturday night, volume has started to creep back up on the back of one of the most anticipated launch weeks in recent memory. The volume surge is headlined by Invisible Friends (anticipation), Tubby Cats, 3Landers and Starcatchers launching with floor increases on recent launches such CatBlox, Kaiju Mutants, and Clementine’s Nightmare. All eyes (and potentially liquidity) move to Invisible Friends tomorrow.
