Announcements and such:
March is shaping up to look a bit different than February, as sales volume has bumbled its way down a slope that keeps on sloping. When will it stop, nobody knows, but I’ll continue taking notes while we flounder.
We’re looking into adding another writer or two to the team and will have more details on that soon, but if you’re interested, please let us know. As always, thanks for reading and come hang out (Goblin Town channel is a really cozy place to be right about now).
TLDR:
Idiots find out they’re just early. Everybody is a bean farmer. Sidekicks are finally on the way. A brutal exploit can’t kill community. More NFT Worlds games. Crypto Clash of Clans. Decentralized Anime production. And legacy IP makes a splash in web3.
News and Notes:
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT MINT popped up across Twitter and analytics sites in early January, asking whether you were early or an idiot. Information has been released slowly and mysteriously, but they recently urged the Internet Degenerates Interacting Over Twitter not to give up the pills - listen here. While no one knows what’s in store, that seems to be the appeal.
alien frens laid out their plans with a new Q2 roadmap last week. Highlights include V2 alien frens on April 15th and a full-length music album in May. Holders will be able to claim an incubator on April 14th which they can hold onto or use to claim their V2 alien. Fren Coin and staking are planned for early June. The aliens look like they’ll continue rewarding holders.
Azuki delivered the bean farmer to the people this weekend. Azuki #40, affectionately known as Bobu, was fractionalized into 20,000 pieces on Sunday. Bobu token holders will be able to vote on proposals regarding the use of his IP, access private Discord channels and “more surprises.” It’s an interesting experiment and a great way for Azuki to expand their community.

Immortal Phoenix (from friend and fellow The Oner Alssy) announced they will be taking a snapshot of holders before their move to Arbitrum. Holders will also receive an additional Phoenix for each they hold, bringing the total supply on L2 to 2,222. A new website UI will prepare players for the eventual launch of PVP battles. Read more in their Medium post here.
MetaHero announced they would be taking a snapshot for Mintpass 2 on March 8th. Holders of Planet Tokens, Generative Identities and Core Identities will receive one Mintpass 2 which will be used to mint a Sidekick. Mint dates for Sidekicks have not yet been announced, so we can expect more info coming sometime in the near future.

Northern Guilds from Pixie Interactive will launch their first gameplay demo sometime this month - preview here. While the collection hasn’t garnered too much attention in the past few months, some in The One believe the project could be a sleeping giant. Hopefully the upcoming preview will reveal more information about what to expect from the game.
RaidParty launched their game on March 4th and saw a notable increase in volume as players clamored in. Players curate their party and work with everyone else to deal damage to a boss, earning $CFTI tokens proportional to their damage output. $CFTI can be used to summon new fighters and heroes or upgrade your current party. The delays may have been worth it, as the game has worked very well so far.
Treasure Marketplace was exploited last week after a bug was found that let users purchase listed NFTs for free. Millions of dollars of assets were stolen, including All-Class Legions and 1/1 Smols. Thankfully nearly all of the stolen assets were returned and those who remained effected were compensated by the team. The Treasure Market is still offline at time of writing, but hopes to relaunch (without said exploit) soon.
World of Women and Billboard partnered with Christina Aguilera, Madonna and Mariah Carey to create three WoW x Billboard Magazine Cover NFTs. Launched during Billboard’s Women in Music event, the collaborative covers are being auctioned on FTX (link here) and a portion of the proceeds will benefit charities chosen by each cover star.
Recent Launches:
Cryptoshack Club, a collection of 7,200 characters including golfers and gophers, is one of the newest collections to include NFT Worlds integration. Gophers and Caddies, the characters from the initial collection, can be burned to receive Members, the highest-tier character. Each character has different benefits and perks. $WRLD token will be distributed via mini-games and airdrops and will be used to enter events, purchase clubs and apparel and more. Read more in their whitepaper here.
CyberBrokers, the generative collection from long-time Cryptoartist Josie, minted last week. The collection, which had been under development for nearly a year, contains on-chain SVG files, allowing holders to download their Brokers and modify each piece, layer-by-layer. Josie’s recognizable style is clearly recognizable throughout, but a wide variety of traits makes the collection feel fresh each time you look at it.
Dour Darcels launched over the weekend and saw a fair share of volume as well as endorsements from notable influencers like Deeze and Farokh. The collection of one-eyed creatures gives off Minions/Mike Wazowski vibes, which apparently some people are into.
Heroes of Mavia held their initial land sale over the past few days and finished off with the public mint this morning. Mavia is a Clash of Clans style base-battler game that hopes to bring fun and addictive gameplay to the blockchain. Skrice Studios has been developing the game for months and have collaborated with a number of notable projects and companies to promote it. While there is a lot left to build before a verdict can be reached, it looks like they’re off to a good start.
Troverse Planets minted over the weekend. The 10,000 generative planets will be players’ home base for the Troverse game, an “open-world, third-person space exploration-survival game powered by Unreal Engine.” An alpha version of the game is planned to released during Q3 2022. Read more on their Medium here.
Shibuya, a decentralized film distribution platform, minted the first producer pass on March 1st. Holders were able to vote on which path the first short anime film, White Rabbit, should follow and earned $WRAB tokens for doing so. Headlined by the prolific pplpleasr, Shibuya looks to usher in a new age in video production via web3.
The Walking Dead Walker Access Pass will reveal into a 3D zombie, but also entitles holders to airdrops and whitelist access for future TWD NFTs. The officially-licensed collection was created by OrangeComet, a Web3 content studio founded by TV producer Dave Broome and former NFL QB Kurt Warner, among other notable names. The collection’s success might open the door for other legacy franchises to make the jump to web3.
Upcoming Launches:
MEE6, the popular Discord bot with over 17M users, will launch an avatar collection later this month. Given the prevalence of Discord in the space and MEE6’s huge user base, this seems like a move that makes sense. While details are still coming, MEE6 hopes their avatars are “the first step on the journey of tokenizing online communities.”
VeeFriends Series 2 will release sometime in April and Gary Vee has started releasing more details. The new collection will include 15 new characters and will have a 12.5 day private mint period for Book Games holders who are selected. Holders of VF S1 will be able to claim a free mint of their current character in S2 - more on that here. Dates for the private and public mint have not yet been announced. Read more about the “Friends List” here and watch for more info.

NFT Market Overview:
There is a noticeable lack of liquidity in the market that has been around for the past few days. General sentiment seems to be that liquidity won’t be returning in droves anytime soon and things may yet decline. March 6th was the lowest OpenSea volume since mid-December and while users remain fairly constant, transaction counts have followed volume lower. Regardless, there are still opportunities, although they may come few and far between. This isn’t surprising, as it’s been a few weeks since the geopolitical drama started, the effects of which will continue to roll over markets of all kinds in the coming weeks. Make your bets cautiously moving forward.
